Improvisation Workshop
Want to learn the basics of Jazz Improvisation? Know the basics and want to build up your skills? A jazz master and just want to get playing again?
This is the workshop for you.
Come along to a relaxed morning’s session and enjoy working on:
Melody line building – get a good lyrical sound
Chord reading and understanding – perfect to add depth to your playing
12 Bar Blues Work
Rhythm and rest exploration – how to make your solos shine more
Aural work – how to pick riffs out by ear and use them in your own solos
Plus more!!!
Ideal for anyone who ever wanted to have a go at jazz improvisation but felt a bit daunted by it. Or for more advanced players who want to get back in to the swing of things.
Whether you’re a woodwind, brass or string player – everyone is welcome.
Rhythms section instruments are most welcome – but do drop me a line first!
All standards welcome!
Time: 9:30am – 1:00pm – Refreshments will be provided
Venue: Combe St Nicholas Village Hall, TA20
Fees: £35 per person – payable in advance and non-refundable.
