Our Writers:

Rachael Forsyth is a graduate from Middlesex University and has been working in the music industry since 2005.

As an avid teacher and performer Rachael works closly with those students who she writes her pieces for. The compositions she writes for Roo Records Music are designed for those students who are between grades, providing them pieces that are fun yet challenging.

As a woodwind specialist she is able to write songs that are able to challenge specific issues that the beginner players may find they come across as they learn to play as well as continual development for those players who are further advanced.

As well as writing fun and educational musics Rachael also writes pieces for larger ensembles.

Praise for Roo Records Music Works:

"A fantastic piece called London Town Blues composed by our saxophone teacher Rachael Forsyth.. Rachael is very skilful at creating great sounding compositions for ensembles of children which maximise their abilities. Many of the children in the ensemble are only beginners, yet they were able to join in with a polished, professional performance."

"I have been a pupil of Rachael’s for the last three years, finally realising my childhood dream of learning to play the piano. Rachael wrote me a piece of piano music – Andante Tattoo – as a gift for my 30th birthday last year to celebrate me having my very first tattoo!
In the piece, Rachael has captured exactly the type of music I enjoy playing. The key signature, the tone, the articulation - the whole arrangement reflects the styles I have grown to love throughout my lessons with Rachael. I have worked with Rachael to develop the dynamics for this piece and this has really helped me develop as a musician.
I was so touched that this piece has been written with me in mind. It is very special and I love playing it."

M. P. - Pianist

"Rachael Forsyth has written several works for our school orchestra which have been well recieved by the children. They bridge the gap between the very basic group playing and the more challenging aspects of orchestral playing. The music offers opportunity for the children to work on challenging solo lines whilst playing within a group, equally as important they teach the children to count the rest bars. The music is fun and innovative. Being new works the children don't know the tunes so they will play what they read rather than what they expect to read."
